The train departs every Tuesday evening from Moscow station, travelling to Paris Est station via Minsk, Warsaw, Berlin and Strasbourg. For service in the opposite direction, a train leaves Paris for Moscow every Thursday evening. The journey takes around 38 hours, covers about 3,200 km and carries passengers through five countries.
Starting from December 2018, Voyages SNCF will extend its responsibility on the segment from Paris to Offenburg in Germany, in both directions.
- Voyages SNCF has selected MRCE as preferred supplier for traction provision on this section of the route. MRCE will provide three locomotives equipped for operation in France and Germany. The locomotives have a 15/25kV traction system and are fitted with both the French safety system KVB/ATESS and the German national safety system LZB.
- This new approach to Paris-Moscow Express service is scheduled to start with the departure of train from Moscow on 11 December 2018. To celebrate, a signing ceremony will take place at InnoTrans on Wednesday, 19 September, at the MRCE booth at the City Cube A, stand 410.
